A bit disappointing, but promising

I use a group chat from time to time, but it doesnt cover the feature. I was wondering how I can know the moment when I receive a message. No sound, no pop-ups or whatsoever… or did I just miss? Id like new messages to appear on top of the left side, otherwise I cant get to know whether I get a new message. I like the user-interface, conciseness of the app. I hope itll get more useful so that I wont need to open Safari to check my Facebook messages.
